Columbus Food Basket Program

food basket volunteers

Since 1991, Broad Street United Methodist Church has been held apart of Bethlehem on Broad Street (BOBS). We have provided up to 1200 food boxes to those in need in the Franklin County Community. Our event includes six Methodist churches that come together to make the food boxes and hand them out to the community just before Christmas.

More than providing a food box, BOBS provides Christmas spirit for those to celebrate love, togetherness, and the birth of Christ. BOBS has a long tradition of providing coffee, cocoa, homemade cookies, jingle bell necklaces, face painting and special music from many talented vocalist and musicians.

Covid-19 has changed how we provide the food boxes, but it hasn't changed our love for the community. We will be offering food boxes to those who sign up with Hands On of Central Ohio (311) and will be offering the food boxes in a drive-thru again this year. We will do our best to add the Christmas spirit in a drive-thru fashion, knowing that our God is still with us, no matter the circumstances.

We will be distributing the food boxes on December 11, 2021 from 9 am to 4 pm.   Please join us in volunteering on this special day as we have many opportunities for you to participate.
