Project Help Clothing Ministry (PHCM)

Project Help Clothing Ministry (PHCM) was founded 40 years ago in the South Linden neighborhood of Columbus, to help meet basic needs and provide essential services to people facing insecure housing, food, and health issues. PCMH strives to provide neighbors with clean, quality, new and gently-used clothing to help meet physical needs, along with resources to meet their spiritual needs. Project Help has served thousands of families with the help of a dedicated team of loyal volunteers.

Over the years, and especially since the COVID pandemic, PCMH has evolved and expanded its mission to assist families by collecting and distributing canned goods and other non-perishable food in partnership with local schools. The Project has also formed partnerships with churches, non-profit agencies, businesses, and generous individuals to organize large scale donations and distributions of toys, school supplies, toiletries, and clothing.

A large part of Project Help’s current action model succeeds through cooperation and coordination with a core group of non-profits, social service agencies, and churches. Families in crisis and their needs are identified by partner groups, who refer them to PHCM. Project Help invites the families by appointment to receive pre-packaged donations of their specific needs. The system is organized to effectively serve the families in our community who are experiencing the most severe financial circumstances.
